How to Reset a User’s Office 365 Password

Method 1

  1. Go to Active Directory Users and Computers and right click the User object whose password you want to reset. Click Reset O365 Password (Fig.1) in the drop down menu that appears. The Reset Office 365 Password dialog box appears (Fig.2).

  2. If you want to assign a random password to the user, click the check box next to Choose a password (Fig.2). If you want to create and assign a password, enter the password in the New Password: and Confirm Password: fields (Fig.2). If you want the user to change the password after login, click the checkbox next to User must change password at next login (Fig.2). Click Ok.

    If you selected the Choose a password option, a dialog box will appear displaying the password (Fig.3). Click Ok (Fig.3).

Method 2
Click the O365 User tab and enter a new password in the Pass: and Verify: fields and select the standard password options (Fig.4). Click Apply for the changes to take effect (Fig.1).
